İskilip Science and Culture Center
Location: İskilip, Çorum, Türkiye
Arch. Imdat As
Year: 2025-2026
The İskilip Science and Culture Center is envisioned as a new civic landmark that brings science, education, culture, and public life together under one roof. Designed for visitors of different ages, the center includes permanent science exhibition areas, interactive learning spaces, educational workshops, a multi-purpose auditorium, and social gathering areas.
At the heart of the building, three spherical exhibition volumes create a distinctive spatial identity and transform the main foyer into an immersive environment for exploration and discovery. These sculptural elements act as visual focal points while representing curiosity, scientific inquiry, and the continuous expansion of knowledge.
The architectural design combines contemporary forms and technologies with a strong sensitivity to İskilip’s local identity and urban context. Open and welcoming public spaces encourage interaction between students, families, educators, and the wider community. More than a conventional science center, the project is conceived as a cultural platform that supports lifelong learning, creativity, and public participation.
